The law is actually changing and I am just sitting here staring at the screen because I really can not believe this is real life right now. You all stuck by this when it felt like shouting into the void, but the new safety regulations are happening and Jade is …

On the 31st of October 2014, our beautiful Jade tragically lost her life in a motor vehicle accident on Fraser Island, Queensland, Australia.Jade was in a fast, inadequately supervised, unqualifiedly driven 4x4 tour jeep that overturned and trapped her upside down subsequently leading to her death. The goal of this post is to attempt to change the legislation governing such tours in order to impose much more stringent safety measures regarding the same in order to prevent a similar incident ever occurring in the future. Jade loved Australia and the people and would still be living her dream now, which she worked so hard for if tougher safety measures had been put in place. We need your support, please sign this petition in order to ensure safer conditions for our loved ones, we need 20.000 signatures to enable us to present this petition to the Australian law reform commission.

Thank you

I spent the entire morning looking back at old photos of Jade and wondering how something like this could have been avoided because the lack of regulation for these tours is just impossible to reconcile with basic safety. People have been sending me messages about their own experiences on Fraser Island and it is heartbreaking to see how many others felt unsafe in those same vehicles. I am still working on drafting the formal documentation for the commission and trying to keep my head clear while juggling all these overwhelming memories.

I just saw the number hit one thousand and I honestly have to sit down for a minute because my head is spinning thinking about how many people care about Jade. It is wild to think about all those names scrolling past on my screen and I keep re-reading the comments while wondering if Jade would believe this is happening for her.

I was just looking at the number and realized we are almost at a hundred names which is just wild to think about honestly. If you could just take a second to push this out to your circles maybe we can actually hit that mark by tonight because I keep thinking about how much Jade would have wanted things to change for the better.

I have been to Oz and it is a tragedy that such a hedonistic and happy time in someones life can lead to their death and the incredible pain caused to so many related to that person. I support more stringent safety on tours in Australia.

I have been to Frazer Island and know exactly how dangerous it is to drive on the Island. I strongly agree with this petition and think the Law needs changing. Such a tragic accident that could of been prevented if they had the right laws in place! RIP Jade

If any person dies in an accident like thisone the law just change automatically , you shouldn't have to sign a petition to enable this to happen ! This poor family have lost their daughter my thoughts are we you and I hope the law is addressed immediately .

I have been on this tour myself and have to admit I was very uncomfortable being driven at speed in these conditions by total strangers. They ask you in the safety briefing to avoid the water, however most tend to intentionally aim for it!

New legislation needs to be introduced on driving 4x4 jeeps for touring so that no more tragic accidents happen. No more families should have to go through the pain and loss. A change in the law could help prevent this happening to another family.

My dearest friends also lost their daughter Jade in a similar accident. Driver too young and car too loaded. Australian roads are treacherous enough as it is. To reduce costs on road building they fail to create the camber needed to grip the bends. Hence many lives are lost with cars losing control on bends. Change the laws! Change the road structures!
