I feel every child deserves a second Chance we all see the bad in people but never the reasons why we do them this story is a prime example she struggled with the pain and guilt of what her step father did and had nowhere to turn but nobody wanted to listen or care its sad this is the way life has been and I hope we can change this we all deserve to be heard no matter what the cause or crime Jacqueline served over twenty years some as a minor and deserves a second Chance at life and love outside prison I hope and pray that u will see this and bless this once child and now women a second Chance I believe she truly deserves it

I remember reading this in a poorly made "street magazine" growing up on the south side . They did a recreation on her story. Never forgot it either. I hope you're freed, I hope this brings light to an ignored problem go girls in gangs

What can I do to help.

I knew Jackie when I was just a child my self we went to the same school. Lafayette school and near North school.. I always saw Jackie a lil more matured then me she had gotten me into trouble with the school and the police when I was only 12 years old she was caught with a few bags of marijuana n had told the school that I had something to do with it until this day I had no idea why she did this to me but now that I am 38 years old I look back at the life she lived she had no choice but to be able to survive I for give her even after this happen we stayed as friends all they way until high school then I only saw her once in a while, I wonder if she would remember who I am if I reach out to her. This child now a women does deserve a second chance she had a hard life that you could only imagine a child left in a world with a step father that's a predator with gangs all around the neighborhood of course she was going to reach out to the 1st person that showed her some kind of love as of right now this is still happening but now with the new generation of kids her story needs to be out there so the young kids can see it and learn from it. Jackie is now my age 38 yrs old we do not think they same way as we once did when we were kids I know if she was to be able to came out she'll give back to the Community n help other kids that are in the same shoes she was once in. I pray for her every night that gov. of Illinois would give her clemency. People do change and I know that she has had to change just because I am also a changed person I am not that young easy to Convince. If you're going to judge Jackie please judge her as for who she is now not who she was then.

She was a minor and her rights were undermined. She did not have a consenting adult to support her. What she did was unacceptable, however, she was a child who had gone through many traumatic experiences. What she needs/needed was a psychological evaluation and help. Locking her up for life does not benefit her nor the society as a whole.

I sincerely hope she has learned her lesson..she's a pretty girl she shouldn't want this gang life to be her life..I hope she is remorseful and I support her.

Hope u one day get a chance to see life outside the walls..beautiful woman trapped in a ugly, lonely place..let god find a way to free u from the hell u r forced to live like the the rest that r awake n see the corruption nd in justice that plagues the majority that try to love they family nd just survive. .

Free Jackie i believe everyone deserves a second chance she was young an by the stories she didn't have much of a child hood or was never shown love for her to love others its no excuse but she is 20 years smarter an is trying to give back to the world what she took by counseling others she seems like a wonderful women now maybe not 20 years ago but people can change an i do believe she has. ive never met her but i know people that have known her an been aquatint with her say she is a great caring person so with that being said everyone deserves a second chance

So Basically She was the Queen on Kings because of the life she lived she wanted to feel protected for once because her mother failed to do so when she was molested by her uncle and cousin. I was raised in Humboldt Park, The Twilight Zone Rockwell and Potomac. I did thing as a kid to survive the cold streets, hell we all did. She is not the same person that she was.......We all need a second chance!! Dios te Bendiga!!

I think Jacqueline Montanez deserves another chance. It is cruel and inhuman to lock a child up for life, regardless of what she did and especially considering herself being a victim of brutality, ruining her childhood.

I myself was born in Chicago in 1975 and was raised their till I was 12 years old, before we moved to Miami, Fl in 1987. I went to Stowe school on St. Louis & Wabansia and right in the middle of "gangland" I had to walk to school through three different gang territories, the Imperial Gangsters, Spanish Corbras and Latin Kings. That was all I saw and was asked to become a peewee at the age of 10 years old, I said no! When we moved to Miami, I quickly began to involve myself in that "street life" and by the time I was 13 years of age I joined my first gang. I had already been arrested by that time 4 times and by the time I was 22 I had been arrested and spent time in juvenile detention, and in county jail, and between the both it was upwards of 15 times. I lived that life simply because of what I was around as a young kid growing up in Chicago and what I saw and I lived it all out in the streets of south Florida. Gangs, drugs, money and sex is all what I was about. I've gone back up to Chicago ever since we moved to Florida because all of my extended family still lives there. On one of those trips at an older age I came close to becoming a member of a gang. That's what my life was all about. My chief(best friend) shot and killed himself at the age of 17 in May of 1992, because by that time it had become to much for him, as he himself was rapped up in it from an early age as well. My cousin got killed in 1994 at the age of 18 down the street from Mozart park in Chicago with a couple of other people as well died. He was a Y-LO D, and was ready to get out of that life, because his girl was about to have their baby. Not to mention a several of other homies I have that got killed, overdosed on drugs and are either doing short bids or spending life in prison. Truth is some people do not allow themselves to be rehabilitated and remain the same way in prison as when they first committed their crime(s) , but there are people who do, and those are the ones who become productive

Enough is enough she was a young girl & we all have done plenty of wrong as a teenager.She served enough, her youth is gone & she have a life term. Parole her.

I support Jackie Montanez not knowing what she was going through at home. Me as a old classmate seeing Jackie on the news hurt. But keep in mind she was only 15 , raped time and time again by her stepfather who was a gang banger, gang affiliated. Is it realize what she went through as a little girl in her household at school? She's lost 23 years of her life. Is not life 25 year? Shame on the court system. To Jackie. I miss you old friend I'm sorry for what happened to you. you grown to be such a beautiful lady.
