On the long 45 minute ride from the Jackson Center of Ocean County Vocational Technical Schools to the Marine Academy of Technology and Environmental Science (MATES), there are 52 Jackson students that ride the school bus. The bus seats 54. 20 of them are new freshmen, making up 1/3 of the freshman class of 60. Although it is not overfilled, the school bus is still very crowded.
Since there is crowding taking up space, some students have to put their bookbags and belongings in the aisle and in the side emergency exit. This creates a safety hazard.
It is common to pack a bus full of students, however it cannot be safe to do so for a bus route that uses the Garden State Parkway each day.
The momentum is undeniable. This level of support proves how many of us prioritize safety on the Parkway.

my daughter is on this bus and it is way too packed for the parkway. anything can happen on that highway and they need proper seating for all those kids.

45 mins on the parkway with a crowded bus is an accident waiting to happen. get another bus already!

The aisle is always blocked by bags which is a huge fire hazard. Needs to be fixed before something bad happens.
