Jack and Ginger's is the perfect example of how small businesses provide the personal touch and level of service that people really want and need in their communities. By allowing them to expand without having to receive redundant approval from a community that already supports them 100%, it would allow them to offer their services to more members of the the Lincoln Square community that much sooner.

Jack & Ginger’s has been great for the neighborhood/community and their exceptional love and care for dogs goes without saying. The City of Chicago and the Lincoln Square neighborhood would greatly benefit in allowing the expansion of J&G without the special use permit that was already acquired for the current location. It would generate more business, money, and foot traffic in a section of Lawrence Ave. that is deteriorating and lacking appeal. With the arrival of spring and summer just a few months away, it is an opportune time for a newly added expansion now rather than 6+ months while waiting for a permit. The surrounding businesses (e.g. restaurants, bars, stores, etc.) would also benefit from this expansion. For example, my wife and I grab dinner at various surrounding establishments or we head to Harvest Time to do grocery shopping before having to pick up our dogs. I believe J&G will have a pivotal role in revitalizing this area of Lawrence Ave. with new business it brings in and am confident that the surrounding businesses will also thrive with the expansion of J&G. Please allow J&G to expand sooner rather than later.

Let go of the red tape, Chicago! This was settled with the first Jack & Ginger's, and it's senseless to put such barriers in the way of this growing business. It improves the neighborhood, provides jobs, and creates a safe, welcoming space for dogs and their people. Let's go! Be efficient! No special permit necessary the second time around!
