To explain that better, if I have my hands shackled like I do at IWU when those shackles come off (like I go home for a break) then I immediately have a desire grab for the things that may be sinful or wrong. If IWU were to instead protect my heart, as in teach regularly about what to take in and what to not take in, rather than decide for me what is appropriate it would benefit students better for the real world.
To put it simply, Indiana Wesleyan's media policy puts students in a bubble of protection that can actually hinder growth that the real world demands.

The administration at IWU continues to ignore the fact that their restrictive media policy infantilizes us instead of preparing us for life. I have heard from so many of you who are tired of these transparent attempts to control our personal choices under the guise of protection. We will keep putting the pressure on until they explain why they refuse to treat us like adults.

The administration at IWU clearly underestimated how many of us are sick of being treated like children who cannot make their own choices. This momentum proves that we refuse to be kept in a bubble any longer while they ignore our actual needs for growth. It is time for them to stop hiding behind these restrictive policies and finally face the reality of what we want.

Living in a bubble isnt helping anyone honestly. We are adults now and we should be treated like it.
YES. I feel like i have no idea how to handle real life media because everything is so restricted here. It needs to change.
