I think that the petition is sensible and it is past time for post season play for field hockey.

The fact that the Ivy League doesn’t have a conference tournament is asinine and completely contrary to the mission of collegiate athletics.

In order to stay competitive on the national level and create a high performance environment, Ivy League Field Hockey deserves to have a play-off tournament (similarly to other female teams and male counterparts).

From an athletics standpoint the Ivy League has stove-piped itself based on a storied history. We can compete at the national level in several sports but we are not considered "players" because we don't fully integrate, thinking we are somehow better than everyone else. We need to play on the same field as other universities and stop thinking we are different just because we happen to be intelligent. It results in us missing out on both the recognition and the opportunity our fellow institutions benefit from. I am hugely supportive of this effort and wish that we'd had a tournament when I was a Cornell hockey player because at least one of my four seasons we might have ended up as champions. Thanks for the opportunity to provide input.

I emphatically agree that this is an outstanding idea, and one that Dartmouth should have spearheaded!
