As a PennFH alum, former DI and current D2 coach with experience at both levels with conference tournaments I could not agree more! It really enhances the student athlete experience. It also allows a better opportunity for a shot at NCAA tournament play.

I couldn't be more pleased to join in signing this petition. It is redolent of our efforts to lobby for female varsity sports in the '70s. -- '72 co-captain and '73 captain -- Class of '74

Ivy League Champions ‘11. We didnt get to go to the tournament because Princeton beat us head to head in the league. A tournament is NECESSARY!

Having served on the Title 9 Compliance Committee at Yale from 1972-1976, I think it is about time Field Hockey and other women’s Ivy League sports have championship tournaments.

Thank you for preparing this petition.
The Ivy League must adapt and expand its post season tournament opportunities beyond basketball and lacrosse. There are athletic and personal development benefits that are at stake here. It is time for Ivy League Field Hockey to make this important advancement for our sport we love and the young women who play the game today.

An Ivy League tournament is essential to growing the Ivy League in competitiveness both within the league itself and on the national stage. A tournament will only benefit the league by: making it more attractive to recruits; raising the level of competition due to increased player motivation to keep competing throughout season (removal of the "1 loss and done" mindset); producing more competitive opportunities for athletes; providing the athletes what they want (they want a tournament--so give them one!); providing the league with more opportunities for national exposure/publicity...etc...etc. I could go on and on--it's a win-win-win-win... situation.
