We, the neighbors of Falconbridge and the surrounding area including Crosstown at Chapel Hill Apartments, Holiday Inn Express, and Nantucket Grill, petition the Durham City Council to initiate an RFP to investigate (and remediate) the noxious odors emanating from the South Durham Water Reclamation Plant on Farrington Road near NC 54.

For more than 20 years, we have experienced periodic stink-storms - and they are increasing in frequency and strength. With the increased development occurring in our area, the Plant will need to handle much greater loads.

It's unsanitary and unsafe to have an open-air Wastewater treatment plant in a residential area. It impacts property values, business activity, and most importantly quality of life.

We respectfully request that the City of Durham address this issue.
