Please use correct biological terms when reporting the news. No human can change their sex or has ever changed their sex. If a man has committed a crime call him a man a he /him and when it’s a woman report that it’s a woman a she/her. If you don’t do this you are lying.

Facts matter. We keep hearing that public trust in journalists is dropping. This is a perfect example of why that trust is dropping, and how journalists are breaking the tradition of factual reporting. This is quickly bringing the profession of journalism into disrepute.

Even a local Oxford Councillor was under the impression these horrific crime were committed by a woman. When told it was a trans women (aka a man) he was shocked the media were lying. People deserve the truth. Be honest and let people make up their own minds. That's what a free press is meant to do, not pander to any one ideology / religion

The journalists involved in these lies are not fit for the job and show no respect for the victim, their family or the people who they are meant to be providing accurate and truthful information to. They should admit publically to their lies and apologise without caveats.

IPSO guidelines require journalists/presenters/editors/news outlets to present the facts.
Time to get back to being honest, starting with using the correct pronouns & descriptions for men who claim to have a gender identity.
