Surely, surely, you the government of the United Kingdom, home at one point of the Enlightenment, can see that officially recording a male crime as having been carried out by a woman is not only nonsense but abusive to women. It will skew the perception of women in the development of laws and provisions of the future.
If you truly think it does not matter, then why do you record whether a crime is committed by a male or a female in the first place in the crime statistics. Why not ditch the categories?
Of course it matters though.
Do not fudge and obfuscate about this any more. That goes for the BBC too.
Recently another convicted criminal, born male ,who identifies as a woman, who enabled the sexual abuse of a 4 year old by another male, was also recorded as being a woman in the crime statistics.

Facts matter. The sex of an offender is an important part of the context of any crime story. It is in the public interest that sex is accurately recorded.

Stop elevating this nebulous concept of "gender identity" over sex. There is absolutely no reasonable justification for this. Sex differences in many areas of life, including criminality, matter. This reporting style guideline that you are following obfuscates material reality for your readers, rather than informing them. Calling this person, or any male, a "woman" or "girl" is misinformation.

Woman = adult human female. This criminal is a man. What’s the point of recording inaccurate information? It serves no purpose and skews crime statistics.

It is shocking that male crimes are being attributed to females, just because the male has a fetish. Sex matters!

The need for statistics on the sex of the offender is either necessary or unnecessary, if necessary they should record accurate and verified details as recorded on the original birth certificate stating the true sex of the offender. If the offender can pick a sex on then the statistics are useless and must be deemed unnecessary as inaccurate statistics are worthless.

Women are far more likely to be the victims of violence than the perpetrators of it. Men who hurt other people should be identified as men in the media.

Wrongly identifying male perpetrators of crimes as female skews the data, and makes a nonsense of the recording process. Why have a recording process at all unless it is accurate?! Never mind the illogical nature of recording a criminal who has gone to a MALE prison as a female??
Honesty and reality count!!!!
Just do your job. Speak truth to activists.
