To: Hon. Ernest D. Davis, Mayor City of Mt. Vernon, NY Hon. Roberta Apuzzo, President of the Mt. Vernon City Council Hon. Members of the Mt. Vernon City Council: J. Yuhanna Edwards Marcus Griffith Deborah Reynolds Richard Thomas Architectural Review Board Planning Board, City of Mount Vernon
I, the undersigned, am a resident of the City of Mount Vernon/a Mount Vernon business-owner/work/shop/visit in Mount Vernon and support the 42 broad Street West luxury development project that will;
Strengthen our sales,property and school tax base Renovate the dilapidated municipal parking garage Bring high-income residents with disposable income to our city Create jobs Stimulate our local economy Reduce the number of vacant storefronts Begin to showcase and re-brand the city so that areas on the South, East and West can experience the same type of development
42 Broad Street West Highlights: Generate over $1million in annual tax revenue to the City of Mount Vernon Developer will spend (at no cost to the tax payers) over $2million to completely fix the dilapidated and underutilized Fleetwood municipal garage Will create a public arts project on Broad Street
Amenities: Fitness center, indoor swimming pool, landscaped courtyard and roof decks, library,lounge, package room, concierge, valet parking, super efficient "green' design
Transit Oriented Development - Within 700ft. from the Metro North and directly across from the Cross County Parkway
The project has reached a critical level of public visibility. I am currently coordinating a meeting with city planning officials to present this list of supporters as evidence of community demand for the Broad Street development.

On balance, I think this project will be good for Mt Vernon. It's critical that the promised traffic flow optimization commitments are implemented.

This is a great use of the site, and the traffic, parking and other concerns can be mitigated with minimal impact.

This will strengthen our taxbase while simultaneously providing much needed relief to our merchants. Hopefully this is the first of several luxury buildings in Mount Vernon. We should not continue to be the dumping ground for Westchester

Please make sure that the Industrial Development Agency provides jobs for Mt. Vernon residents on this site. The IDA has the right AND responsibility to do this.

I strongly support this project and see the big picture for the city of Mount Vernon. I hope that the developers and contractors hire local residence to help build the project. I would also like to see diversity among the workers, especially African American. Too often I see Italian, Irish, white, non black contractors along with Latino workers. Granted all workers cannot be from Mount Vernon, however, an effort should be made to recruit local individuals from the community , especially from the south side.
