Why not allow the PA student who are inches away ( 4 to 5 hundred clinical hours) from graduating and joining the workforce to battle covid and any other ailments they were trained/educated for to volunteer to a clinical standard and completion?
The universities could then bridge the liability gap with their provider relationships, who are only dealing with essential encounters.

Our program was able to push us through to get enough clinical hours to end rotations 1 week early. We are still set to graduate in May 2020. I feel like other programs were not able to do this and that the ARC-PA should put out updated guidelines for programs like us that are so close to graduation, it would be ridiculous to delay at this point.

I am also a second year PA student who is scheduled to graduate in August, although we are currently delayed from clinical rotations at this time. That would delay graduation in August for us as well.

PA students should not have to delay their graduation because of these extenuating circumstances.

This is a classic example of the ARC-PA not being a supportive leader to either patients or PA-S. There is a shortage of healthcare workers and Italy knew that. ARC-PA is obviously oblivious to the situation.

This is out of control. I don’t see how Pearson Vue is helping to slow this virus down by any means. They should properly screen people coming through the door and allow people to takes tests. This is hindering my certification, licensure and working. As of March 31st. I have no where to live, no money to earn even though I have a job, and have no actual day this will be resolved. I signed up on the earliest day to get this process started and now am 5 weeks delayed in the process. I was supposed to take my PANCE today in 2 hours and now I’m unable to take it because of an abysmal chance I will contract this virus or transfer it. I’m extremely disappointed that Pearson Vue in their decision. Businesses like this are not looking out in the best interest in the community.

My class was less than a week away from taking our PANCE exam and we are ready and eager to start working, especially during this time of need. Closure of testing centers is the only thing standing in our way.
