OPCs are greatly needed. The need for this life saving intervention is really needed in Scotland but there is a national need for this type of approach.

The evidence in support of OPCs is irrefutable. This will save lives and change lives for the better. Dundee deserves that! First Dundee then the whole of Scotland, and on.

Overdose prevention centres provide a golden opportunity and contact point with recovery, at the point of that persons use.. there are rarely any better opportunities to promote recovery and treatment

Having a SAFE space for people to use where they can have contact with professionals in the field as well as peers, could be an entry point into treatment, especially for the more harder to reach potential client, who would not have had anything to do with treatment previously. This would be a way to build trust between this potential service user and the treatment service as well as the support that can be offered/ sign-posted for different aspect of issues for the person who otherwise would not have had access to. If the fear is the risk of OD, how greater is the risk for someone ODing in places where there is no safeguards/ supportive professionals around them???
