I have been hearing from so many of you who are just as frustrated by these redundant barriers as I am. I am currently putting together a formal request to the department to highlight how little sense this policy makes for experienced drivers.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that I am far from the only one frustrated by these outdated licensing rules. It is incredibly validating to see so many drivers who know exactly why this change is necessary joining in.

when doing PCV and CPC you have to know all about HGV regulations so should therefore be covered to drive an HGV
it makes sense, if someone who passed there test in the 80s can drive anthing up to a 7.5 tonne then some who holds a pcv/psv and is already driving a 10 tonne should be able to drive a hgv ???
Yes PCV drivers should be entitled to the class 2 license
Prob be better as well as us psv/pcv will have more consideration for buses ;-)
its about time a bus is more in weight with people on
I list about time the rules changed
a coach is longer than any class 2..

I to done my test after 97 and can only drive up to 3.5t yet I've held a pcv for 10 yrs and have driven pretty much every type of gearbox and even 14m double deckers
