If you are looking to reform a school, a name change is not necessary. If there is something wrong at GT maybe we should look at who is running it?! Changing of the Gordon name is running from the past, but what are we even running from?

I was fortunate enough to get a great education from Gordon Tech which helped obtain strong values of loyalty, respect and gave me a base for the strong work ethic I have. many of my friends went to schools like Weber and Holy Cross both of whom closed and have my friends have a common sense of loss and that something dear to them has been taken away. I don't want this to happen to my brothers, friends or myself. I'm proud to have gone to GT and hope t bc at th he Board of Directors has the strength and courage to make the correct decision by retaining the Gordon Tech name and tradition.

Im from the Class of 95, GT was hard for me (academically) and All my Teachers worked extra hard to get me through my four years with my grades not being up I wasn't able to play sports. I really wish I could of especially my favorite sport Baseball. but I am damn proud to have a Diploma with the name of Gordon Tech on it.

When someone states they went to Gordon, I can tell the pride, history, and tradition behind their statement. I know they received a top notch education within the city limits of Chicago (which is rare). I know they are good Catholics who do their best to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ. As a graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep and a life-long resident of Chicago, I strongly believe taking away the name, among the other changes, is move that will erase all the values and tradition for which a Gordon education stands. Unfortunately, my alma mater is currently phasing out the middle class with its choice to continually raise tuition so high that it is unattainable to those hard working Chicago families who are making middle-class wages. This seems to be the direction the DePaul committe is choosing to go. This is, in my opinion, quite the opposite of what I was taught of the teachings of Jesus Christ in my 13 years of Catholic education. Once Ignatius phases out the middle class in the next few years, there will be only two options for a quality Chicago Catholic education: Gordon and St. Partick. I emplore you to reconsider your choices in the changes you are making, and keep Gordon a footstone of quality Catholic education in Chicago. Thank you.

erasing Gordon Tech's name is unwarranted when the real issue is the need to update the facility? once updated all positive outcomes will occur, such as increased enrollment.. etc ... the demand to change the name has ulterior motives that are not Christian ....
