As I stated at the meeting we need to form a strong and active alumni board that assist Kenny Kendall in not only raising funds but being active mentors to the existing classes. And if the want a more collegial name than Father Francis Gordon College Prep " In the GT tradition " would accomplish this committee' s goal. Now it's up to the Resurectionist to decide whether they continue to honor one of their own or sell out to DePaul because ultimately it comes down to the almighty dollar.

Thanks for attending the meeting. Because of a mailing address mix-up, I did not get my letter, so I appreciate your being there very much.
"Feeding into the stereotype"? Wow, what does that mean? What "stereotype" is that? I realize those were Dempsey's words, not yours. I'm just trying to get my head around that phrase.
Based on the many Facebook comments about that meeting that I have read and the personal conversations I've had with other alums who attended the meeting, the "feeding into the stereotype" remark seems like just so much misplaced classist snobbery.

I do not want our beloved GT and its Ram heritage to be cast into the mists of oblivion by extremely rich, self-serving, and embittered political opportunists who know little of our fine tradition and care even less about it. Preserve the Gordon Tech and Rams name and traditions for today's students and for the young men and women of the future.

DePaul and Gordon should continue to have their own identities, after all the present students selected Gordon for their excellence in academics and their uniqueness which had nothing to do with DePaul.
