The announcement came through that the name and mascot are staying right where they belong. My hands are shaking after all this strain but I am relieved that our history remains intact. Stay alert to ensure this promise holds firm for the long haul.

Gordon Tech is looking to change the name and mascot of the high school and as such change the tradition. We do NOT want this change.

As Alumni, parents, students, supporters, and even staff it is our responsibility to remember what the Gordon Tech name stands for. Our mission statement was instilled in all of us. It is our responsibility to make sure that the beliefs of faith, respect, excellence and service live on.

We want our future children to have the same opportunity to strive for excellence that we did! We cannot do that if they change the identity of a school that enriched so many lives. We will be truly heart broken. We are hoping that with this petition the administration and DePaul University will see how strong of an Alumni following we have. We hope that they see how many lives the school has impacted, how many people support the school, and how many people want to see it live on with its strong traditions of excellence and values. We want this petition to make them stop and reconsider the changes they are trying to enact. We want to be heard! So let's work together to help preserve an institution, a school, a second home to many of us that has impacted our lives in such a strong way. Let's come together to make our voices heard, let's come together to show them how these values and skills can make a difference the way they taught us, let's fight for our school, our tradition, our history, and our future! Let's fight for the orange and grey! It's a great day to be a Ram, and we want it to stay that way!Do not take away our tradition!

The emails I receive from alumni every day are a constant reminder of how much this school defined our lives. I have been spending my nights drafting letters to the administration to ensure they understand that our history is not up for negotiation. It is exhausting work but your shared memories keep me moving forward.

As I saw in a trip to the school to show my son his Father's legacy as a student athelete, their were dismantled trophy crests and no record board for track and field. To throw away the legacy before is to doom any attainment for the future of ehat has become a husk if student excellence.

We sent my son to this school with a lots of sacrifice, so he can have a better eduation. He and us are very proud to be on of Gordon Tech student. So we do not agree on the change of the school name. Please dont do it .

While I'm for a lot of the ideas the DePaul alliance will be to Gordon Tech, I am absolutely opposed to a name change. It's completely unnecessary to do, and a smack to the history of this school. Do NOT change the name, or drop the Rams name and mascot either. Thank you.

If you are looking to reform a school, a name change is not necessary. If there is something wrong at GT maybe we should look at who is running it?! Changing of the Gordon name is running from the past, but what are we even running from?

As a Weber grad, I lend my support to Gordon Tech and to keeping their name, colors, nickname, etc. DePaul can add to this school without killing the connection with their rich and storied traditions and history.

Don't change GT! Keep it traditional. I've been at since I was little because both of my older brothers went there. So GT is like a second home to me.I love GT and taking away its history is like taking away a part of me. Please don't change GT!
