Please ban e-scooters and restrict use of PABs (power-assisted bicycles) to use on road only, NOT pedestrian pathways. Better yet regulate through licensing for ownership and use of PABs. This is the only way to deal with irresponsible users want to modify PAB into motorcycles but don't want to pay for insurance and road tax for motorcycles, and yet ramp up speed and persisted in riding on pavements and endangering pedestrians. There're better ways of managing user responsibility, one of them being compulsory licensing for usage and ownership of PABs and PMDs (personal mobility devices.

I have seen several incidents of cyclists with electronics bike speeding along the pedestrian walk. The old pedestrians had to quickly moved off to prevent collision. I shouted at 2 cyclists but they just scoot off without any concern. Do not allow more serious accidents to happen. Ban them from our road.

Ban it before it gets out of control. Ban them just like chewing gum. Easy.

Please ban it; education alone is not cutting it, so is the limited, random enforcement.

I'm supporting this not to target the e-scooter manufacturers or retailers. I'm not out to hinder people enjoying the use of these mobility devices. My support for this petition is to ensure other parents and spouses alike do not have to go through what some parents had to go through. A ban would effectively prevent similar accidents and incidents from happening. Of course, riders themselves have to be more aware and respectful of other road users.

If LTA deem that PMD are essential for Car-Lite Singapore, pls ensure proper registration, education, regulation and enforcement of eScooter. If LTA is unable to do this due to manpower constraint, then banned it just like how we had banned Chewing Gum to eliminate stuck MRT doors. As our founding father had said, we must be prepare to make hard decision.
