With E-Scooters flashing past elderly people at speeds between 20 to 30 kph, pedestrian lanes have become danger and death zones for all pedestrians. The vast majority of these E-scooter users pay scant attention to the so-called strict laws governing their use and behavior. Laws may be passed but LTA do not have the manpower to police the these irresponsible riders. Such riders of motorised vehicles should only be allowed in bicycle lanes.
I suppose the authorities will only consider banning E scooters from the pedestrian lanes if there is sufficient evidence - a lot of dead and crippled pedestrians massacred by such irresponsible riders
There is now zero safety for walkers using the pedestrian paths.

I've personally witnessed accidents — whereby the rider couldn't react or perceive potential danger due to the speed they are going, and crash into vehicles. Please ban e-scooters because the riders do not care about safety.

BAN THEM. Its a hazard to pedestrians and even pets. It causes fights too when these vehicles swiftly n quietly whizz by so near u.Pedestrian gets angry/shock and shout at them. The rider not happy confront.
It will only cause more trouble. BAN it for the sake of innocent pedestrians. We can walk. Why can't they??
Promotes healthy living too. Walk. Dont be lazy or show off play loud music while riding. Even worse..the male rider display inappropriate body language standing so close to female pillion infront. Get a room please. Dont use it as excuse to rub yourself against her.
My daughter is a good example. She said she 'thinks she might be molested by her guy friend who ride her home and can feel his penis against her' But what can be done??? Nothing. Cos you need to stand on those annoying vehicles.
Some girls even squat on it. What an ugly sight.

Fully supported.. my mum is 70 years old, she like to walk to nearby mall multiple times daily to meet up friends. I constantly worried for her safety as I have witnessed many times irresponsible speeding e scooter when walking with her to the mall.

Too many errant riders and our infrastructure are not ready to inclde PMDs. PMDs n3ed to be banned before more lifes are lost and increase in injuries
