I made a promise to deliver the findings of this petition and did so at the AGM that was hosted this Sunday, December 18; but the message was truly delivered by the voters, as that day also saw the election of a New Management Team, dedicated to Changing Karate in Ontario! Our team includes Antonio Terra as President, Anthony Cornett as Vice-President, Kathy Wilson as Secretary, Peter Melanson as Membership Director, Sarmen Sinani as Athlete’s Representative, and myself, Peter Klambauer as Treasurer. We want to thank everyone who came out to give us their support, and are ready to make the changes that you our members have been waiting for! Thank you all and again!

Mr. Cezar Borkowski teaching shotokan over 40 years in Ontario has 12 dojo and 3600+ students is no longer in KO. Why? BRIAN CYR has 8 dojo and 4000 students he is not in KO but why? many more examples of thousands of people training in Karate in Ontario but they left the provincial association. Why? the answer is not what you have been told! Go find out for yourself, do not follow with "blind trust"

There are MANY dojo in Ontario who do not belong to KO, and they do run their own open tournamernts yes. But years ago, decades ago they DID join KO but became frustrated so they left quietly. To the people who do not know who these dojo are it's because they left KO before you decided to immigrate to Canada, this is why you do not know all the sensei in Ontario who have been training 40 or more years. Believe me, at one time they were ALL in KO. They were all students of Tsuroka, Guest and Okuyama. Please research and learn the history of karate in Canada.

We have now seen several comments and expressions of concern regarding the safety of participation in this petition and fear of retaliation for doing so. This should not be the case, and alone speaks to how profound the problems are with the current administration of Karate Ontario. CDOO will make direct presentation of the findings of this petition and its recommendation to KO, as well as to the Province and Karate Canada. I will personally deliver our report to the December AGM. My name is Peter Klambauer, and I am a concerned dojo owner. Tournament Judges/Ref are favourable, bias and Judgements are wrong .
Unable to contact KO for any reason. Does not answer nor return Phone calls even if we leave number of messages.
High fees but very inactive and inefficient.

The events are poorly executed,many time changes etc. Also scoring of points in Kumite appear to be arbitrary depending on officials.

The spirit of this petition sums up the opportunities, that can be improved at Karate Ontario. The lack of transparency and in many situations the voice of the customer -"US" - dojo owners, KO members , athletes and parents are consistently ignored. As early as a few weeks ago I questioned and asked the board details regarding minutes published by the board in their "e-mail board meeting on Oct. 13th" on monies paid out in legal fees to a KO Official during a Karate Canada tournament as stated in their minutes lacked details. I just wanted to know how our public money was being used. To date I have yet to receive an answer. I suggested if the board did not want to respond to me in my e-mail; I suggested they just simply revise the minutes and add more substance and details to address my questions and concerns. To date minutes from Oct. 13 th and other minutes still remain to be scant with very little details. The members of KO are important stakeholders who only want open honest answers to how their membership money is being used. In Solidarity! Thank you.
