I live under the edge of the Navy flight paths on central Whidbey Island. It is noisy but necessary for combat pilots to have this training for safety and expertise before deploying on aircraft carriers and airfields overseas,. The Naval Air Station and associated OLF training field is also the biggest employer in the county.

Strongly support theNavy's mission here at Whidbey. We have lived on the North end of Whidbey for 40 years. We are a non-military family and proud of our neighbors.

Having lived in Oak Harbor for 64 years, I literally grew up with the Navy. I feel that it is most important the community support those who defend and protect our way of life and have no issues with a little noise. The vast majority of those who criticise our military and their operations are late comers who were not thorough in looking into these matters or who simply want to increase the value of their property by eliminating the "Sound of Freedom".

I support the Navy, this community and it's training environment. The Navy has been here longer than 99 percent of the people here. There is no argument.

I served in the Navy and lived on NAS Whidbey Island from late 1988 until mid 1991. The base is part of the island's DNA and life stream for the local community.
Aside from dealing a huge blow to our national defense if the base was to ever close done, it would destroy an essential part of the character of the area, the locals, and the Navy at large in doing so.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Ray Cazares
