I propose that the City of Issaquah modifies the traffic signals in front of Issaquah High School and around Old Town Issaquah. This would include the signals at Issaquah High School and Second Ave SE, Front Street S and Second Ave SE, E Sunset Way and Second Ave SE, and E Sunset Way and Front Street. To do this, the city would install an induction loop on the bus ramp exiting Issaquah Middle School. Once a bus triggers the sensor, the light leaving the high school would turn green allowing all buses to leave at once. After the loop is triggered, the lights at E Sunset Way/Second Ave SE and Second Ave SE/N Front Street would change to be green allowing buses to get to their routes quicker and easing extended back up and delay in the school's parking lot. When there is no more movement on the sensor after 20 seconds, the lights would go back to regular programming. *Timing would have to be modified as needed*

Living off sunset is a nightmare when school lets out. Needs to be fixed asap.

As a former issaquah high student I can attest to the stress that the traffic causes students this is a wonderful first step

i think this is a good first step. It doesn't take into account that buses often leave in groups but rarely are all ready to leave at the same time.

Yes this will definitely help traffic, with very little expense to others not traveling to/from the high school

Agreed. The traffic is horrible. Whose idea was it to put 2 schools on the same 2 lane road that get in and out at around the same time. Horrible planning.
