Islington Council 's Park Gates Policy
Re: Islington Council’s policy of locking open the park gates during the daytime on the grounds of improving accessibility for all users Islington Council has recently introduced a new policy of locking open the park gates during the daytime on the grounds of improving accessibility to all users, already implemented in Barnsbury Square Gardens. This policy has serious consequences for the safety of some of the users and impacts on the social aspects of the community’s activities. Not all parks and open spaces within Islington are equally accessible as dogs are already banned from a number of areas. We the undersigned request that a proper process involving full consultation on the introduction of this policy should be carried out as this affects a large number of residents and park users.
