As a visitor to manchester from preston, lancs, for its food and shopping i regularly use this islamic centre for prayers whilst travelling due to its convenient location and close proximity to city. It would be a real shame for locals and visitors alike to loose this great facility for more apartments which are found in abudnance nearby, whilst not having anything of the current facility in close proximity. Please sincerely reconsider the proposal and keep the current facility.

I am a resident in Airwick and am Iam 22 years old resident in Airwick and am eager to save the mosque which in my opinion is not fair, this is the place where I always go to with my 4 sisters to worship God since we were young and until now we socialise with our friends and relatives, I would love the building to stay as a place of worship and community centre for us and for the future generation

I am a local resident living in Ardwick. I am 17 years old and have been going to this mosque ever since I was very young. I firmly believe that this mosque should not be closed down because it has served me and my community for 40 years and personally, this is place for me where I find solace and peace. It is a place where I feel safe and a place where I feel closer to god. This mosque has taught me about the true value of life and equality of all human beings. If this mosque closes down and turned into student accommodations, I will feel very devastated and I will not find that solace and peace that I would find at this mosque. I really hope this message will reach to those who consider closing the mosque.

i strongly support the Islamic Acadamy and its humble efforts in providing excellent community service for those in Ardwick and for the better development of the community as a whole, and this should remain as a place of worship for the many Muslims who come here for what they believe in

We strongly oppose the planning application (02531/FO/2013/N2 and 102532/LO/2013/N2 |) which has been submitted by Church Converts to MCC to redevelop the Islamic Academy into flats. We wish for this historical building (The Islamic Academy of Manchester) to remain as a place of worship, educational and community centre. We strongly oppose the plans to convert the place of worship into apartments. We wish for this building to remain as a place of worship and a community centre for future generations.

I live less than 200 meters from this Center and I do frequently go to fulfil obligated duties as a Muslim. This center serves my children to teach the necessary basic Islamic teachings to respect and live together with other faith groups. It is also a place that offers advice and social platform for my grandmother who would not have other place to go if this serve stopped. I strongly oppose the planning application (02531/FO/2013/N2 and 102532/LO/2013/N2 |) which has been submitted by Church Converts to MCC to redevelop the Islamic Academy into flats. I request the council to look the historic, religion, social and local community needs instead of benefited of few wealth men who do not even live around the area.

the claim that islamic academy creates traffic at peak time is preposterous, as the only time where there is large number of people is on Fridays at 1:30, most of these people are students and local residents who all walk to the mosque, so I am unsure how it is possible to claim that high traffic is created by the mosque. As oppose to another student accommodation which is proposed to be built, which iIam sure which will create a lot more traffic constantly through the year.

The Islamic Academy of Manchester has benefited me and others in the community enormously by educating us in how to co-exist peacefully with people of other faiths. Also that our faith Islam requires us to be a law abiding citizen and tolerant towards others. I wish the Islamic Academy to serve our community and especially our children for the benefit of the wider community by teaching the correct value of Islam. My family and myself absolutely object to the planning application (02531/FO/2013/N2 and 102532/LO/2013/N2) by Church Converts. MCC must put the welfare of the community first.

A place of worship should always remain a place of worship and educational purposes. It will be a sad day if the place is converted into a commercial and materialistic use. I strongly urge the Manchester City Council to reject this planning application in the face of overwhelming public opposition.
