We ask the Government to ensure that existing legislation surrounding religious slaughter continues to be protected and is not abused by vested interests by ensuring: 1.That in Law the definition of Halal is protected in a similar way to the term Shechita where the legislation makes it clear that religious slaughter is without stunning. 2.That the government puts the interest of the rights of the Muslim consumer, as protected by law, over and beyond the vested

non-stunned meat should not be made illegal, it takes away the freedom of choosing what to believe by ruling out one of a muslims guide to life
