How can tasering (oops i mean stunning) cause less pain to an animal than ritual slaughtering. The report which states that non-stunned animals suffer more pain than stunned animals was a SHAM, as the pain criteria was only measured AFTER the stunning for stunned animals, and after the carotid artery had been slit for non stunned. That’s not a fair comparison...Obviously once the poor animal has been tasered/bolted (read smacked with a hammer, as in essence this is what it replaced) ie dead, the stress levels are going to be low since it is unconscious. The captive bolt requires the bolt to be placed firmly against the skull of the animal. Anyone who knows animals knows that you have to force them into this unnatural position (very stressful for them). Since they will be resisting this forceful act i.e. the gun against their head, it will not be sufficient to ‘knock it out’ first time round, requiring a second or third blast. This is CRUEL.
