The government confirmed they will maintain the current legal protections for religious slaughter without stunning. This win belongs to everyone who stood firm on our right to practice faith without interference. Keep a close watch on future policy shifts as we move forward.

Petition for Halal Assurance Scheme

We ask the Government to ensure that existing Legislation surrounding religious slaughter

continues to be protected and is not abused by vested interests by ensuring:
1.That in Law the definition of Halal is protected in a similar way to the term Shechita where the legislation makes it clear that religious slaughter is without stunning.

2. That the government puts the interest of the rights of theMuslim consumer, as protected by

law, over and beyond the vested interest of the profit driven supplier.

Please protect the rights of Muslims to eat food according to how it was prescribed by Allah ( God) the almighty . As we Muslims don't ask to take away Non Muslims rights , therefore , we request and expect our government to respect and protect our rights. Thank you

Please respect the beliefs of Muslims as those of other groups in the UK are. Help us maintain our diverse society here in the UK, by continuing to let our religious beliefs without compromise. Stunning is not in keeping with the practice of Halal meat

By definition a Halal product should be a Halaal product, the consumer shouldn't be conned in believing the product is halaal just for a small profit. It is our right to choose to purchase a halaal product and this right should be protected by law.

I am a British citizen and I have a right to express my religion and have protection of my beliefs also. This is not a right which is selective, dependant upon religions so protect Muslim halal rights in the same manner as Jewish koshar rights have been protected.

The consumers must NOT lose their legal choice to seek out and preserve Prophetic practice of consuming unstunned slaughtered meat, complacency in upholding up this aspect of the Sunnah would tantamount to being neglecting & undermining our religious legacy.

We strongly oppose the proposed Eblex Halal Assurance branding, as it does not meet the Islamic Shariah requirements. Eblex has proposed new labelling for Halal, which is confusing to Muslim consumers. To follow this cause, please sign this petition.
