Food is essential to life, the food production industry is and will continue to be a huge part of society. However the food production industry is not a perfect one. Animals are tortured, crammed into cages, restrained from a healthy diet, and prevented from seeing sunlight, neglected, genetically manipulated murdered in gruesome ways in order to produce eggs and dairy. Animals have feelings as we do and their unnecessary torture is unacceptable. This petition is to have York University inspect the food on campus and ensure the food vendors are not contributing to any form of animal abuse. In order to see change we must be the change.

Updates

I have been reviewing the feedback provided by students regarding their experiences with campus dining options. These reflections provide a clearer picture of the systemic issues we intend to address with the administration. Further communication with university representatives is currently in progress.

The level of engagement this petition has received demonstrates a clear desire for greater accountability regarding our campus food sources. This momentum confirms that students hold high expectations for the ethical standards of our university vendors.

this is sickening. how can we call ourselves a top university while supporting businesses that treat living things like factory parts? fix this now.

it is about time york takes responsibility for what they serve in the dining halls. so sick of hearing about how these animals are treated just for a cheap meal.
