My son is 7 with severe Irlens it took me weeks to find anyone to test him and then I had to save to pay for tests and lenses this will be payments I will have to make life long so he can have reduced symptoms of his condition it’s disgusting there is no help for it and it is still not really recognised by the NHS pushing people to pay extortionate private fees.

I'm a sufferer and haven't been able to have coloured lenses in over two years due to there being no funding and tests and tinting costing almost £200 I care for my father as he and my mother can't work

Government need to recognise this as a problem that affects plenty if people with help with funding towards the test lenses any help at all would help family's struggling to afford the cost that the glasses contact lenses x

Both my children have irlens - one especially bad. Thankfully, after years of complaining a school teacher finally took my complaints about her hatered of reading seriously. It took 2 diagnosis before we got her the correct colour glasses and several hundred pounds, but thanks to irlens east we got her the help she needed and academically the improvement was staggering. We were lucky we were able to afford the tests but many sufferers aren't so I totally support this petition!

My improvement percentage is 31% with the overlay i have been given by the NHS, this should be treated through the NHS and be free as it's a recognised syndrome

I have been diagnosed with irlen syndrome recently by a irlen centre by a checklist he says I have quite some serious problems and that can only be treated with an irlen glasses and they need to send me for a full evaluation including the glasses . I can't afford this even if I use my DLA my whole care package would disappear quick which isn't enough to live on
