To send Irish troops and citizens into a war that we did not create jeopardizes Irish neutrality and the lives of our families and friends both here and in Africa.
We should be fighting to exclude ourselves from the war that America created and call for our army to focus on helping those who reach a safe harbour in Ireland.
For too long our governments have involved us in conflicts that the public didn't agree with and furthermore these 'peoples representatives' spoke for the general public without consent.
As an Irish citizen I am stating that sending Irish troops does not fit into my beliefs and does not reflect my idea of an appropriate response.
Ask yourself if our government are falsely representing you, your views and your safety. Learn from the past wars, from the hundred of thousand lives lost already, and ask yourself if you need to make your voice heard. To say nothing means you agree with the governments stupid decision, jeopardizes our democracy and safety.
