the whole system is from the dark ages , to allow anyone to breed and throw away the surplus with no regard to life whatsoever is shameful , quite apart from the fact that some of these dogs may well have owners looking for them

Apart from the obvious barbaric abuse of life. I feel that because so many dogs who could make wonderful family pets are seemingly dispoed of in such a flippant manner the majority of people do not see the true situation

5 days is far too short a time to be reclaimed by the owner.

Not enough time for an owner to come forward, especially if the dog was stolen in another part of the country. I hope the pounds all check for a microchip!

ALL pounds need to be more pro-active, in this era of social media, to enable lost dogs to be re-united with owners or surrendered dogs to find new homes.
