We circulate this petition in conjunction with Committee for Commemoration of the Irish Famine Victims requesting the Government of the Republic of Ireland establish a fixed day in the national calendar to commemorate the victims of An Ghorta Mhóir, (commonly referred to in English as the Great Famine;) and That such day be established as
the second Sunday in May.

Good luck with this. They are hard to get through to as many areunwilling to annoy the neighbours, although when it comes to fancy speeches and vote catching at Great Hunger events they are coming out of the woodwork
