Dr. Kim's social justice advocacy continues to inspire me and my colleagues as we attempt to build a more equitable and inclusive campus culture at a two-year open access institution. For the most part, we are not teaching medieval texts or digital humanities, but our classes benefit deeply from Dr. Kim's innovative and compassionate work on behalf of our most vulnerable students.

As a grad student, (University of Connecticut) I am so grateful of all the good work Dorothy has done for the medieval field. We are all better scholars because of her work and advocacy.

I can only add to this statement that such egregious behavior does not exemplify most of my medievalist colleagues. We cannot allow such infantile, misinformed behavior that harms another colleague and empowers ignorance and hatred in the public sphere.

For a senior scholar to target a junior scholar, for any scholar to dox another scholar, for a scholar not engaged in the study of race to tell a scholar whose scholarship focuses on race that they need to learn their history - all of this is beyond unacceptable.

Dr. Kim's work is essential to the field of medieval studies and I stand with her. The academy should not tolerate ad hominem attacks by its members, tenured or otherwise.

Senior academics have a responsibility to be courteous and respectful, all the more so when dealing with more junior academics; and racism should have no place in academic discourse.

We must be unified in our support of scholars of color, and unified in our rejection of white supremacy, blatant anti-semitism, and other race-based hatred, all of which Prof. Brown is promulgating in a manner completely unbefitting the profession. I stand with Dr. Kim and all others now on the receiving end of this harassment.

Dorothy is the best kind of scholar: intelligent, engaged, and so very generous with her time and her talents. She does not deserve the abuse she is receiving and I stand in solidarity with her.

I stand with scholars in all disciplines and fields who are fighting against racism in academia and the world and who are now under attack and facing harassment. Dorothy Kim is a crucial figure in medieval studies, as is William Chester Jordan. Exploiting and abusing scholars of color is simply unacceptable in any forum.
