Netgem has confirmed a firmware update that addresses the bugs and compatibility issues we documented. I have verified the release schedule with their engineering team and we can expect deployment to begin shortly.
As at June 2006, the website iplayer.co.uk states \"The iPlayer+ is designed to bring you a world of possibilities now, and in the future. Unlike other set top boxes the iPlayer+ has been developed to bring together entertainment and communications in one device, and to keep upgrading as new features are developed ... We are committed to continually improving the iPlayer+ and adding new features.\"
There are still a number of features not working on the iPlayer, e.g. menu items which lead to web pages not viewable on the iPlayer, BBC audio switching not fully working for Wimbledon, World Cup etc, an old version of Flash, and bugs etc.
Users\' comments about the iPlayer can be viewed at http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/ under \"Equipment\" and \"Netgem iPlayer\".
The petition will be sent to Netgem.
The scale of this response is sufficient to escalate our demands directly to the Netgem product management team. I am currently drafting a formal letter outlining the technical deficiencies for submission later this week.

They promised updates when I bought this thing. It is basically a paperweight now.

Fix the flash player already. Nothing loads properly and it is so frustrating.
