Press reports on Thurdsay 5th July 2007 indicate that the UK carrier 02 will launch the iPhone in the UK later this year. There is no confirmation of 3G capability and we believe that an iPhone limited to GPRS connectivity will be severely hamstrung and be at odds with the ethos of the device. We hereby petition Apple and other involved parties to consider their launch plans and provide better connectivity to UK iPhone customers than GPRS.

The swift growth of this petition highlights a clear consensus among prospective users regarding the necessity of faster mobile connectivity. This momentum confirms that our expectations for the device remain high and deserve direct consideration from Apple.

GPRS in 2007 is just a joke. I am not buying a phone that cant even load a map properly when I'm out and about.

Seriously? 2G speeds for a thousand quid. No thanks.

PLEASE give us 3G! It makes no sense to release a high end device like this without decent data speeds. Stop treating UK customers like second class citizens.
