Despite three updates thus far (iPhone 2.01, 2.02, 2.1), the iPhone and iPhone 3G do not reliably record and/or transfer "play count," "last played," and perhaps other metadata to iTunes, thus rendering smart playlists that rely on this information unusable. In these challenging times, this issue may seem like small potatoes, but leisure activities like playing music serve an important role. Plus this feature worked flawlessly prior to iPhone 2.0. Thus, if you use smart playlists or simply enjoy seeing how many times you've played "Stairway to Heaven" and when you last played "Paradise City," please sign this petition. Thank you.
