This petition serves as a semi-survey for Starhub and the more important party, Apple that there are many more people in the Singapore market who are under contract with Starhub and wants to continue using Starhub and use the iPhone. The iPhone not only an incredible device, but a very sleek designed phone that no doubt makes a person feel good to grab it up and pick up a call which is undeniably irresistible. Such a great mobile/device should be available equally to everyone in the market. We Starhub users feel strongly for Apple to allow Starhub to take in the iPhone as a second distributor for Singapore. This coming launch of the iPhone OS 3.0 and the rumored saying of the new look of the iPhone would be a great opportunity for Starhub to sign a distribution contract with Apple. A couple of emails to Starhub proves that they are discussing with Apple about bringing in the new iPhone this 3rd quarter of 2009. But to how reliable they can be we don't know and thus this petition to support the in-take of the iPhone for Starhub. (There have been a case of a teleco promising the public that they would bring in the iPhone by the end of last year but as it turns out, to no avail.) For all mentioned above, we would say that Singtel will also need to withdraw herself as the sole exclusive distributor for the iPhone. We therefore request Apple to allow Starhub to take in the iPhone and that Starhub would take in the iPhone from Apple to serve as a distributor & thereafter for it to happen, Singtel to not sell the iPhone exclusively. This petition will be mailed in snail-mail (hard copy) and via email (soft copy) by the end of June 2009.
