Investing in the future of Upper Arlington Parks

It's time for us to take care of our fields. We are one of the premier communities in central Ohio, our parks should represent that.

Should install artificial turf at the park

We need upgraded parks and a better management system to keep them in top of the line shape.

I’ve coached at Northam for years. The fields quickly degrade once the season starts and become very hard, particularly during a dry spell. We have to do better.

It is fiscally irresponsible to invest a significant amount of money to rehab the fields and not have a comprehensive maintenance program in place to ensure their upkeep go-forward.

Parks are a safety concern for sports when it feels like we are playing on a concrete surface rather than plush grass.

I totally agree with improving and maintaining our city athletic fields. As an adult walking through the fields I constantly roll my ankles - I can not imagine kids trying to play sports safely on these fields .

I am huge supporter of upgrading our facilities and this is a significant issue. Our athletic field and parks are extremely out of date and poor condition compared to similar communities in the area.

High quality athletic fields are an important part of a strong community. Please do whatever possible to maintain them in a safe, sustainable and responsible way. I have children playing sports and can attest first hand that the fields in Grandview, Dublin, and Hilliard all have superior surfaces.

Our community athletic fields are in terrible condition, are unsafe, and have needed attention for years. I've coached in the community for 35 years and our parks are way behind other communities. I am certain that many injuries, especially in football would have been prevented had the city done something sooner.

The city needs to give us the park field quality we deserve. A nice, clean, safe environment for our community, including and especially for our kids.

UA parks should rival Dublin, we are far from that!

I am in favor of, at long last, a competitive (and normal) grass turf playing field in the park. Weeds make our turf unreliable for our kids. I can’t believe this needs a ‘petition’ in order to accomplish.

I agree that reasonable turf management including weed control and fertilizing is necessary.

Please upgrade our athletic parks for Children's sports to a condition commensurate with our other city facilities currently in use and also under construction.

As a parent of sports players, we need this change.

Please support the reasonable plan to provide safe fields for our kids to play sports on.

Current parent and past coach of various UABCB divisions. Our fields need proper care.

My daughter’s club soccer team, OP UA, scheduled nearly all of their games away this year because of the poor field quality. We need to fix this, it is embarrassing to see how our fields compare with other communities.
