Because of excessively high water bills in August that cannot be definitively explained, thus resulting in a lack of confidence in the accuracy of our water bills, we call upon the City of Round Rock to hire a third party to investigate the accuracy of our smart meters, as well as the meter reading and billing practices of the Round Rock Utility Department.

Average consumption for a family of 4 should be around 6,000 gallons per month. They are saying we used over 10 times that average at 61,000 gallons. To understand how absurd that is, it would represent over 500 gallons per day per person in my house. Not possible. I am getting a lawyer.

Looks like we had a high meter reading (33200) from 8/13-8/25 then had a "meter swap" on 8/25 and our reading went down considerably (13500) from 8/25-9/17. Doesn't make sense that we would use more than double the water in 12 days than we did in 24.

I just moved into this area. I received a 13 day bill of $102.42. I am a single senior, & have never had a water bill this high. When I questioned them about this, I was told "this is just the way it is, our meters are correct". This is shameful & needs investigation !

Our situation exactly! Almost quadruple our July & previous months bill & we were out of town during some of the weeks that the bill was for withOUT our automatic sprinklers on. Highest month in 4 or 5 years!!!!! (I went back thru the bills with the city) They can't explain that either.

Greenslopes subdivision, we went from 7K gallons to 19K gallons in one month, no irrigation system. Called the city and had them do a leak check and nothing. I just don't believe it.

I have repeatedly requested a review and viable explanation as to why my water bill tripled. The city of round rock stated that my meter was broken, they replaced the meter twice, yet still insist that the readings were correct. I asked how I could escelate my concerns and have been ignored .

Mine has been out of bounds more than just Aug. I take 2 15 min. showers a week and wash one load of clothes...but my bill is higher than my mothers and she waters multiple plants daily.

Water bill for the month of August and September 2015 tripled. Please investigate and fix the problem. There are no changes in our water usage from the past months.
