Sometimes it feels like the city of New Haven “bites the hand that feeds it”. We the tax paying people are the hands, especially the home owning, over taxed people. I would definitely like more real attention to city budgets and the excuses they make. The money is always going somewhere else, but never seems to get there, and yet we continue to pay more and more each year. People don’t want to improve their properties for fear of having increase in assessment and therefore taxes. Too few people own property in new haven. We don’t have a decent public pool. And then yes....what is it about city hall spending, or the unnecessary spending of money for the mayors office people. ?? Why is everything being cut yet Harp still is able to give people on city hall pay raises? Thank you....

The time has come for a complete transparency and what seems to be some reckless spending! How much more can we taxpayers take? I have said before I will continue to say it we need a forensic audit of the Board of Education to see where all these millions of dollars are going and to whom !

Harp should not be on the BoA, conflict of interest. Mayor tried to give her rich-self a pay raise. The police are getting paid overtime, amidst an economic downturn. Alders delay real solutions to deal with the city's problems. Development stalls because the city favors rich homebuyers. Taxation is not an economic solution. Low-income residents suffer at the hands of corruption. School closures are because of the BoA weaponizing their wishes for projects.

The people of New Haven have a right to know what is going on in government. There are too many unanswered questions and questionable actions.

Accountability and transparency should be the basic requirments we ask of the Mayor's office. We as property owner's have been further burdoned by increasing taxes and want to be sure those taxes are being used for the greater good of the city not to line pockets or used for unacceptable expenses.

The city is unraveling while most of our citizens do nothing. Demand better leadership and honest government.
