I feel very passionately that kettles are the most outstanding kitchen appliance and their presence in the apple emoji list is paramount! When searching for a kettle emoji I was disgusted to not only find 5 suns, but to find other kitchen items such as a knife and fork, showing clear favouritism. If this issue is not addressed I know me and many others will be forced to a more kettle-loving phone company.
I spent all morning scrolling through the knife and fork options again and it just feels so wrong that the tea kettle is still being left out of the digital conversation. Some of you have been messaging me with pictures of your own kettles which is actually really keeping me going even though I still have no official word from the tech side of things.

The amount of people who also feel this deep betrayal by the lack of a kettle emoji is actually mind blowing and honestly I am just sitting here staring at my screen because it is wild to realize I am not the only one obsessed with this. I honestly thought I was being dramatic about the suns but seeing the momentum grow makes me realize we are onto something and need to keep the pressure on for our kitchen hero.

I was just looking at the count and we are almost at 500 which is honestly kind of wild because who knew so many people felt this strongly about kitchen appliances. If you have been meaning to send the link to that one friend who definitely uses a kettle way too much now is really the perfect time to do it since we are right on the edge of hitting this goal.

Frankly, the absence of such an important item in the house is quite disappointing, even for non tea or coffee drinkers this emoji surely must be up there as being very useful when chatting with friends, ie get the kettle on I’m coming round!!

Long have I been waiting for the day to have a kettle emoji, for the kettle serves many of us but lacks its representation in the emoji form. I use mine at least 8 times per day serving me and my friends many a lovely cup of tea, it insults my culture and I consider it discrimination against the british.

I feel attacked as a British citizen for not having a kettle emoji. How else am I supposed to message my family to tell them to put the kettle on when I’m on my way home
