Our aim is to open an independent International primary school within the Tuen Mun, Siu Lam area in September 2016. The school will accommodate up to 145 pupils (one form entry, year 1 - year 6) and will follow the British curriculum. We have already received approval from the Education Bureau and have almost completed the process of gaining the use of a wonderful disused/abandoned ex-school property, which we plan to renovate. Please support our project by signing this petition so that we can present it to the Lands Department to show that there is both a want and a need for such a school.

Oakbury Primary School will not just be a school. Our aim is to become a fully integrated part of the Gold Coast and Tuen Mun community, in particular, giving back to the local community and having a strong focus on the environment through the following mediums:
a) We aim to make the premises available during the holiday periods and weekends to the local community as a place for them to meet and run/attend classes.
b) We will provide English Language classes to the local community
c) We will offer scholarship places (10%) within each year group for bright students who cannot afford, but may benefit from, an International education.
d) We will build an eco garden within the school premises, which the students will tend and harvest.
e) We will regularly hold fund-raising events that will raise money for student chosen charities.
f) The school will provide a yearly fund for the local community to use for projects to enhance and renovate the area.

Building our School Community
Oakbury Primary is founded by local residents who have children of Primary school age and who wish to provide the best education that they can. Although we are an independent company/school, we are not driven by profits, but by the vision and mission of the education and nurturing environment we wish to provide for our children. For many years, there has been a great frustration within the area that there are no international education options, which do not involve a large journey time. With the opening of a major school in the area, international education has been provided but with high costs and larger class sizes making this a difficult option for many families. Our aim is to provide an almost completely different experience, for students, parents, teachers and the local community, who are extremely excited about this prospect.

Our company is comprised of teachers, parents and business professionals who all bring a wealth of experience to support the successful set-up of such a school. Our founding member, has twice been part of school set ups, in both China and Hong Kong and has been in education, setting up and building a variety of departments both curriculum and pastorally based, for 12 years.
