Farmingdale State College:Interfaith Prayer Room Project
Currently, the Christian Fellowship Club (CFC) doesn't have a designated space to practice religious services. In addition, the room currently being used by the Muslim Student Association (MSA) is a room that only accommodates five people at a time. When praying in congregation this can create a fire/safety hazard. The MSA and CFC would like to join forces to acquire one stable room that will accommodate up to 25 people. This is why we encourage you to sign this petition and help us shelter a comfortable space for all religious faiths on campus.
The main purpose of this petition is to acquire
a space for the faith based groups on campus. The core of this project is to
promote good will, and to foster a collective unity, peace and understanding
amongst all the faiths that reside on campus. All parties involved are
dedicated to doing whatever it takes to make sure that this is an enriching
experience for everyone. It is also important to note that this room would not
be limited to the Muslim Student Association and the Christian Fellowship Club.
The collective usage of this room will be delegated by a scheduling process.
Thank you for your time and cooperation with our efforts.
