Integration Mattered! Build its Monument at UF NOW!! (60th anniversary of UF Integration: September 2018)

It is a worthy effort and long overdue to recognize exemplary efforts made to allow what is right – accessing education in the USA, a USA Citizen’s Right. I fully support this petition!

Don't let history be forgotten.

This is great work you are doing, Michael!

Build the monument -- and do it now -- to honor the courage, sacrifice, and dedication of Virgil Hawkins, to inspire and motivate future generations of students and leaders, and to remind us all that the goal of this humble pioneer's work is not yet fully realized.

I strongly encourage the University to erect the statute.

Please disregard my statement that donations seemed to be required when I signed the petition. It seems I had some kind of technical malfunction after I added my name to the petition for a Virgil Hawkins, Esquire monument and I couldn’t get past the donation page without much maneuvering. An incredible period in history that deserves to be pubically recognized.

Please make it known that a donation is required with signature for this petition before the signature is collected. It is published in the article from BAY NEWS9 that black lawyers will be funding the monument.. Please be aware that requiring a donation with signature is probably the reason you have not been successful collecting signatures since 2013. P. Crumel

Now is the time to honor those who helped to fully integrate UF. We do not want UF administrators to just talk about a more inclusive campus, do something finally.

There is no better time to construct this monument than now.
