This is a petition to stop the usage of police officers driving state issued vehicles while off duty. They should have to leave their police cars at the station when they get off work, no more taking advantage of the people. It is well known that the police department wastes more tax dollars than almost any other government entity. We do not enjoy paying for them to go on dates, go on vacation, drive their kids to tee ball, sit ideley on the side of 465 waiting for a speeder or a headlight out, leaving their car running as they eat in a restraunt, etc etc. There is obviously no way to calculate exactly how much money is wasted by officers driving their vehicles while off duty, but some have said the transportation account rivals that of our whole public school system's account! You can help put a major dent in this and hold police officers accountable (as they love to do us) by signing this petition. Tell the powers that be that you appreciate the service of the force, but you are NOT their mother nor their sugar daddy. Drive your own car and pay for your own gas and maintanence like the rest of the world has to.
