This petition is to request that Northampton County Council,install a tank drop system allowing access only to buses and emergency services between the Headlands Estate and Timken Estate. The traffic uses this link as a rat run,endangering the lives of our children and pets as they reach an alarming speed allowing no way of stopping,the noise from the speeding cars keeps children awake at night and distrurbs us on a daily basis. Recently this link was closed and yellow signs were put up advising that the tank drop was happening,the difference in the amount of traffic was profound and even the local wildlife increased! We soon discovered that there had been a U Turn and instead of the tank drop system so desperately needed,the road was very slightly narrowed which is of no use whatsoever!!.
