Excellent suggestions to protect the large number of people who use this road and prevent future events like the Anthony Hofer hit and run death.

Not from this area, but good friends with Anthony 's grieving Grandmother. Hope the cameras and other safety measures happen.

This road is extremely dangerous. I would love to see cameras or at least speed bumps installed

I sign this petition because I agree in that SOMETHING needs to be done. Frankly, I do not think that speed bumps and cameras will prevent tragedies. If I remember this road correctly, speeding is inevitable. Brighter lighting would definitely help in multiple ways: Better visibility from pedestrians and drivers, increase likelihood of witnesses, and increase in overall feeling of safety. I have not walked on the sidewalks there myself, but (also if I remember correctly) the sidewalk is not thoroughly separated from the street, so another suggestion is to create a railing. These suggestions may be more costly, but I feel have better potential in impeding tragedies as opposed to making the gathering of evidence after an accident easier. Ultimately, I remain with a question. "Why was the car on the sidewalk? Or why was the pedestrian on the street?"
