Why hasn't a pelican crossing replaced the zebra crossing earlier on this year when the elderly couple where knocked down resulting in a lady been killed and her husband loosing his eye. This accident happened at the start of 2013. The council need to act now before anymore accident happen.

Surely the council will do something now, it is tragic that another life has been taken here.

How said to hear of yet another life taken at this crossing, my prayers go out to all concerned. Howard could you amend the petition to ask for / demand that a crossing of at least a puffin be installed, which In MHO is safer than a pelican. The crossing is adjacent to a cross roads and a matter of yards away from a second busy junction. During business hours throughout the day the crossing which is between two bends in the road is subject to heavy traffic. If it is deemed too expensive to install a controlled crossing then perhaps a local authority order reducing the speed limit on approach to the site be made.

this crossing has been like this for 30 years or so it should have been sorted out then I think Oldham council has just passed the blame onto other sooner than solve the problem in the first place shame on you OLDHAM COUNCIL you should be held responsible for this as well as the driver
