Sums Oldham Council up perfectly, they spend £3000 on an Axminister carpet for their Leadership team whilst continuing to ignore improving a dangerous crossing, any Council worth it's votes would have installed a Pelican crossing years ago, think about this when election time arrives!

This needs doing before someone else is injured or killed. This crossing is not safe as if you are driving South you can't see the crossing due to the bend in the road, then you have the cross roads of Salt Street and Linney Lane and after that the traffic emerging from Milnrow Road. The approachs to the crossing are also badly lit so it's hard to see a padestrian, especially if they wearing dark clothing. As much as I hate to say it, this section really needs traffic lights control the traffic and provide a safe crossing point. Also OMC need to re consider reinstalling traffic crossing officers, children's safety needs to come before cost.

Y is it a dangerous crossing????? Of 30 years of driving haven't once seen a bad crossing....but lots & lots of poor drivers. If u think it's a bad crossing go to it & cross a few times . Love to here back from you on your findings.......

Its Not the council . It's not the CROSSING. Take yourself off to any zebra crossing of ya choice, cross a few times & stand around & observe the behavior of a lot of drivers. Remembering what the law says....on approach to any crossing the driver must slow & prepare to stop, the foot person has the right of way as soon as they get to crossing....they can step out as soon as they reach the CROSSING as all drivers have a durty TO STOP... but most don't......

as you have experienced for yourself it's not the crossing, you say something must be done then be like me tell them time & time again it's not the CROSSING it drivers who clearly sould not be on the road........

This poor girl was not only knock down BUT then dragged under the car up the road. What does that tell you???? My survey says the driving ability of this driver is poor to say the least...my own experience of crossings has left me in no delt this is a national problem, & the problem is very very very poor standard of driving. Go to any crossing u want & see how many drivers fail to stop.......

How many many more surveys, how many more meetings do our elected leaders need before action is taken to protect pedestrians.

Something must be done about this we can't have any more deaths on this crossing. I was crossing the road last week and I was halfway across and this car come steaming down and never stopped even people waiting on the other side of the crossing pipped there horns Ideiots
