How many people have to die to get something done? I was told a few years ago that there had to be a certain number of fatalities before anything could be done!!

Having been a near victim in the past something must be done to improve the situation both for pedestrians and road users.

On my experience on crossings dawn, it's not the crossing. That leaves just one thing. Drivers. Do me a favor dawn , keep looking both ways even when crossing til safe on other side. I promise u out there are some very very bad drivers. Stay safe....

My heart goes out to both families that have been effected bt thie terrible accident. Drivers need to be more aware of the crossing and drive slower, frequently I have seen drivers speeding along that road. Please please drive slower so that no-one else needs to go through the heartache those poor families are going through.

No it hasn't, driving ability, driving standards, driving aware is to blame. To many drivers are simply not fit to be on the road.

Oldham council should have taken action years ago by their apathy. They are fully responsible for the loss of lives and heartache caused to family and relatives in current and past accidents.Does it need another tragedy to make them get of their fat backsides

Sorry, y r u blaming the crossing, when clearly in your own statement its poor & bad driving . Wake up everyone it's not rocket science here. ITS poor driving from people who get away with it time & time again. Change the crossing & location will not change the bad drivers . Change the lack of highways policeing that's what needs to be done. In the summer I drove to Cornwall& back some 500 odd miles, never saw one police car. Need I say any more...
